Indeed. Food shortages are another impact of climate, complicated by tariffs and war. Hadn't heard about the impending coffee shortage, though, Tom. That could really impact productivity! ;>

I also think we need to highlight the corruption - the outlines of which are already obvious, but it's going to be epic, and I think will start to infect everything.

Definitely. It already is happening; look at the private prison lobbyist being set up as Attorney General. The groundwork was laid by the Koch network, destroying democratic institutions. Now the Musks, Thiels and Andreesans can destroy any consumer and environmental protections. The libertarian plutocratic billionaires will be free to suck the value out of public assets, as well as our natural and human resources.

100%. This is such a rich nation -- so much to plunder.

I'm listening to podcast series "Master Plan" by Lever Media, which was founded by David Sirota (investigative journalist, Bernie Sanders speech writer in 2020). It breaks down how we got to this point where corruption is essentially legal. I didn't know this history. Definitely recommend.
